JungleMail 4 | Activating features

Note: this tutorial applies to JungleMail 4 and earlier only. If you are working with JungleMail 5 or later, this tutorial does not apply to your version of JungleMail.

After activating these features, you will only be able to send group emails if the web application email settings are correct. Subscription and tracking configuration and further customization is described here.

"EnovaPoint JungleMail Core" Feature

This feature creates JungleMail lists required for JungleMail functionality on a particular site collection.

This is the main feature of JungleMail and should be activated on each site collection where you are going to use JungleMail. This feature also enables JungleMail Site Collection Settings.

Except for site collections which are used only for tracking link clicks/email opens and for users subscribe/unsubscribe/subscription management activities. For these site collections , we recommend only to activate "EnovaPoint JungleMail Publishing Web Parts" Feature.

Activating the feature

1. Log in to the top-level site in the SharePoint site collection using the site collection administrator account.

2. Go to Settings > Site Settings > Site Collection Administration > Site Collection Features.

3. Locate the "EnovaPoint JungleMail Core" feature and click the Activate button to activate the feature for the entire site collection.

Note: You must repeat these steps for each site collection on which you plan to use JungleMail.

After the activation of this feature, you will notice one document library and few lists have been created on the top-level site in the current site collection. Read more about JungleMail lists and permissions required.

"EnovaPoint JungleMail Publishing Web Parts" Feature

This feature adds JungleMail Tracking and Subscriptions web parts to your web part gallery. Enable this feature on the site collection you are going to place web parts in.

If you are going to send emails from an internal environment and track external/anonymous user actions, there is no need to activate this feature in an  internal  environment. You should activate it on SharePoint Site Collection accessible by anonymous users and which tracking and subscription management web parts will be placed.

Activating the feature

1. Log in to the top-level site in the SharePoint site collection using a site collection administrator account.

2. Go to Settings > Site Settings > Site Collection Administration > Site Collection Features.

3. Locate the "EnovaPoint JungleMail Publishing Web Parts" feature and click the Activate button to activate the feature for the entire site collection.

"EnovaPoint JungleMail Newsletter Templates" Feature

This feature adds 16 built-in Newsletter Templates for your company's use. These templates are provided to you as-is and without any additional customization or improvement from EnovaPoint.

The resources for these templates will be stored in JungleMail Assets library.

Activating the feature

1. Log in to the top-level site in the SharePoint site collection using a site collection administrator account.

2. Go to Settings > Site Settings > Site Collection Administration > Site Collection Features.

3. Locate the "EnovaPoint JungleMail Newsletter Templates" feature and click the Activate button to activate the feature for the entire site collection.

Activating the "EnovaPoint JungleMail User Menu" Feature

This feature enables the JungleMail ribbon button for creating new jobs from lists.

1. Log in to the SharePoint site using an account with Manage Web Site Permissions.

2. Go to Settings > Site Settings > Site Actions > Manage Site Features.

3. Locate the "EnovaPoint JungleMail User Menu" feature and click the Activate button to activate the feature for the current site.

Note: You must repeat these steps for each site on which you are going to use the JungleMail user menu.

After the activation of this feature, you will notice a new ribbon button in the lists and libraries on the current site.

Note: this SharePoint group email product is not a SharePoint WebPart solution. You do not need to place any WebParts to SharePoint pages for sending group email campaigns.
